With the kind support of the Italian Educational Institute of Athens, Tempo Forte and under the auspices of the Municipality of Athens.<\/p>\n<p>As the curator of the exhibition notes:<br \/>\nDouble Canon for String Quartet is a composition by Igor Fedorovi\u010d Stravinsky written in 1959, in memory of the painter Raoul Dufy.<br \/>\nIn this short composition, of only 20 bars, that lasts just over a minute, Stravinsky chooses a series of twelve notes with a symmetrical character that give rise to canons played with two violins that repeat the series of twelve sounds twice.<br \/>\nThe second canon is performed by a viola and a cello that are added to the violins, creating a complex contrapuntal plot.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Opening:<\/strong> Thursday 20th of May 2021, 16:00 \u2013 21:00<br \/>\nObserving the necessary health rules imposed by the coronavirus pandemic.
