The art dynamics in the service of Human Rights.
ART HUB Athens – “Art for Social Change” true to its vision of a sustainable world without discrimination, where art will be the vehicle for collective action and social change, presents the interactive group art exhibition “Sketchbook 4 Human Rights“at The Project Gallery (Normanou 3, Monastiraki) from Thursday September 23 to October 2, 2021.
This is a comprehensive presentation of the Sketchbook 4 Human Rights Project, the first global project of creating a library of sketchbooks by artists, inspired by the UN Human Rights and 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The project was born as a bridge between artists, ART HUB Athens and the organizations which promote Human Rights in Greece, while being a stimulus method for artistic creation, awareness and open dialogue for the subject matter.
The exhibition is an action of the “Sketchbook 4 Human Rights” project which is implemented under the Active citizens fund program by the ART HUB Athens NPO.
The sketchbooks created exclusively for the purposes of the project, will be exhibited in the gallery space, accompanied by interactive activities/ exhibits that aim to introduce us to the dialogue on human rights.
Simultaneously, we create the foundations for an equal society, by implementing an educational program, where direct contact of some exhibits will create the appropriate conditions for the visitors to be educated and sensitized to Human Rights.
During the exhibition, ART HUB Athens will conduct an anonymous research about the Human Right violations entitled: “Save my Rights“, aiming at the documentation of daily occurrences of human rights violations, through personal testimonies, which illuminate the visible and invisible aspects of it. problem. By giving voice to what concerns us, we come one step closer to social change.
With Art, as a commonly accepted language of communication worldwide, ART HUB Athens aspires to turn the Sketchbook 4 Human Rights Project into a future reference point for practical activism and support of vulnerable groups, in order to contribute to the whole effort to raise awareness and productive legacy for our society.
Change begins from us.
